James Eugene “Jimmy” Greeson, 75, of Indianapolis and formerly of Martinsville, died after years of failing health at 4:24 am on Sunday, September 11th, 2022, at the Keepsake Village of Columbus. Jimmy was born on Monday, July 28th, 1947, in Martinsville, Indiana, to the late Floyd Greeson and Mary Grace (Stewart) Greeson Tackett.

Jimmy’s younger years were spent in Martinsville where he graduated high school with the class of 1965. Following graduation, he pursued a career as an electrician. He was a proud and dedicated 50+ year member of the IBEW Local Union #481.

Prior to his deteriorating health, Jimmy was a certified scuba diving instructor who took pleasure in traveling, scuba diving and riding motorcycles. He had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles and was the proud owner of a custom Big Dog Mastiff, which won several awards for its originality, detail and best of show.

He will be missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends including his companion and best friend of thirteen years, Debi Ayres of Columbus, IN; son, James Eugene Greeson II of Martinsville, IN; daughter, Heather (husband, Mike) Trice of Indianapolis; and six grandchildren, Mike and Tony Fields, Ashley Loutt, Omar and Stormy Warnell and Maverick Greeson.

Jimmy’s wishes to be cremated have been honored by his family who will be hosting a memorial service to celebrate his life at a later date.

The family has suggested that those wishing to honor Jimmy may contribute to the IBEW Local #481 Help Fund, 1828 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46202, in his honor . This is a fund to assist union members with various situations and hardships that Jimmy was particularly supportive and proud to support.
