Delorus Joan Dalton, 65

OCT. 19, 1947 — DEC. 2, 2012

BLOOMINGTON — Delorus Joan Dalton passed away with her loving family by her side on December 2, 2012 in Bloomington, IN. She was born in Indianapolis, IN to Raymond and Mary Johnanningsmeier. Joan was raised in Martinsville where she graduated from Martinsville High School in 1965.

Joan loved being surrounded by her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo with her many friends. She was a member of the VFW in Martinsville.

Joan worked as a custodian at Indiana University and also worked as a nurse’s aide for several years. She will be missed by her family and friends. “God Bless Joan.”

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Richard Dalton; her father, Raymond Johanningsmeier; son, Richard L. Dalton; daughters, Lorie Miller of Princeton, IN, and Lisa Dalton of Bloomington; grandchildren, Sabrina Isom, Heidi Patterson, Clinton Allendar, Weston Dalton, Summer Patterson, Stormy Dalton and Zachary Miller.

Joan is also survived by her two sisters, Diana Brawley and Lana Ferran, two brothers; Jimmy and Danny Johanningsmeier.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Johanningsmeier, and her brother, Rick Johanningsmeier.

Friends may call on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. in Day Funeral Home, 4150 E. Third St., Bloomington, IN 47401. There is no service. Burial in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Martinsville, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe County Animal Shelter.
