Fall 2020 Update

Well once again I find it's literally been years since my last post.  What happened you ask?  I think Dale Brown, fomer B-52 Radar Navigator and author of Flight of the Old Dog put it best.  Writing is something you have to make yourself do when you'd rather be doing something else.  Right now there are at least 10 other things I should be doing, but here I am writing another piece for Site News.

But enough whining.  I just finished watching the Artesians beat Jennings County HS on MHS Rewind on Youtube to the tune of 42-11.  This was important because it was the Sectionals game 1 and MHS now moves on in the playoffs.  I must admit I haven't followed the Artesians that closely in recent years.  Getting back to actually go to a game during FB season was really tough!  But that all changed last year when PAULETTE shared the Youtube MHS Rewind link.  Who would have thought we could watch the Artesians play from anywhere in the world?  Here's the link in case you want to try it- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXp3TMAZUmItg-8Fa_sq2FA.  I highly recommend it and next week, they play Greenwood, so tune in and cheer them on!

On a more serious note, I had a phone conversation with JACK BOWMAN today.  Jack is recovering from COVID and just got out of the hospital last week.  In his words, "It is Real! "  He came down with it after his arrival in Indiana a few weeks ago and was taken in an ambulance to the ER, then to Bloomington where he was put on a ventilator.  Thankfully, he survived and is now at his son's home in Martinsville where he continues to recover.  He sounded great, and although he needs to be on oxygen most of the time, he says he is feeling better every day.  He is already planning to go back to FL so by all means give him a call!

And of course it is election time once again!  I want to avoid politics but I will close with the thought that regardless of who you are for,  by all means go and VOTE!  It is our right and duty as citizens to do so!  and yes, I have voted!   Best wishes in the weeks and months ahead and whatever they bring, I hope, just like we sang at graduation, we'll "meet again some sunny day"!
